People's Network October 18 in Guangzhou this morning, Xinhua, China's No. 1 natural gas hydrate (flammable ice) comprehensive survey ship "Ocean on the 6th," the Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey Bureau of Land and Natural Resources pier held a ceremony to formally enter the column of China Marine Geological Survey fleet establishment.

"Ocean on the 6th," is based on the characteristics of our nation's coastal and marine geology needs, by our own design and construction of the first comprehensive survey of gas hydrate a ship, is currently the world's first a set of seismic, geological surveys and many other investigations function one comprehensive geological and geophysical research vessel. The captain of 106 meters wide and 17.4 meters, maximum draft of 5.7 meters, the design displacement of 4600 tons, 15,000 sea miles endurance survey vessel using electric propulsion system, dynamic positioning, full-back steering oars and other international advanced technology and equipment, equipped with 4,000 meters level deep-sea underwater robots, "Sea Lion", deep-water multi-beam bathymetric system, deep-water shallow stratigraphic profile system, with a total cost of 400 million yuan, and equipment conditions in China's marine geological survey team second to none.

"Ocean VI" will undersea gas hydrates (gas hydrates) resource investigation mainly taking into account other marine geology, marine mineral resources investigation, it may infinite sea areas in international waters to meet the multi-disciplinary, multi-means comprehensive survey requirements. It's listed equipment, marking equipment, Marine Geological Survey of China into the international advanced ranks, becoming China's implementation of marine geology and equipment to protect the important pillars of the project.
