Lin Yifu: Financial crisis should not be delayed an excuse for action on climate change

World Bank vice president and chief economist Lin Yifu said here on the 4th, climate change is a global issue that no country should be based on the financial crisis as an excuse to delay action on climate change.

Lin Yifu had issued the same day alive, "World Development Report 2010: Development and Climate Change" held a news conference that climate change and the financial crisis is a manifestation of market failure. A short-term financial crisis, the global economy is recovering, but climate change and human is closely related to the damage caused to the world that it can already be seen.

According to the World Bank report, although the developing countries in global greenhouse gas emissions account for only one-third, but suffered losses caused by climate change 75% to 80%. Lin Yifu noted that developed countries to developing countries, an obligation to provide funding, technical assistance, and to reduce their own greenhouse gas emissions.
