Xinhua Shanghai on May 1 (Xinhua Qian Tong, Jia Yuankun) President Hu Jintao on the 1st morning in Shanghai with a state visit to China and to attend the opening ceremony of the Shanghai World Expo will be held talks with Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki.

Hu Jintao pointed out that Kenya friendship, friendship and cooperation between the two countries established diplomatic relations have developed smoothly. In recent years, the two sides closer high-level exchanges, political mutual trust enhanced, economic and trade cooperation is full of vitality, the outcome of the Beijing Summit of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation as well as the two sides agreed to the full implementation of cooperation projects, cultural exchanges and cooperation with rich content.

Hu stressed that Kenya is China's important cooperative partner in Africa. China cherishes the traditional friendship and fair, willing to work with Kenya to deepen bilateral friendly cooperation in various fields. First, we should enhance mutual political trust, continue to maintain close high-level exchanges, the legislature, the ruling party and government departments to strengthen friendly exchanges, deepen coordination and cooperation in international affairs to jointly safeguard the common interests of developing countries. Second, deepen economic and trade cooperation, work together to implement the China-Africa Cooperation Forum within the framework of the project. China is willing to continue within the limits of support Kenya's economic construction. To actively explore new areas of cooperation and ways of expanding the infrastructure, energy, tourism and other fields, continue to expand bilateral trade. Third, we should expand cultural exchanges, and implement cultural exchange programs and educational exchanges and cooperation in the implementation of the Agreement, China will help Kenya to train more professional and technical personnel.

Kibaki said Kenya relations are very friendly and willing to side attaches great importance to China's long but with close relations, China has long provided selfless assistance to Kenya highly appreciated. He said that Kenya is willing to further expand economic and trade relations between Kenya and China to strengthen cooperation in the field of infrastructure. Kibaki reaffirmed Kenya's one-China policy.

Before the talks, Hu Jintao at the Shanghai International Convention Center for the Kibaki held a welcoming ceremony.
