Xi Jinping accepted the joint interview with Japan and South Korea in Beijing Media

In Japan, Korea, Myanmar, Cambodia, the eve of an official visit, Vice President Xi Jinping on the 12th at the Great Hall of the mainstream media in Japan and South Korea accepted a joint interview with journalists stationed in Beijing.

With regard to the significance of his visit, Xi Jinping pointed out that Japan, Korea, Burma, Cambodia and the four countries are China's important neighbors and partners. We are pleased to see that the current overall situation of Sino-Japanese ties good and stable development of China-South Korea relations have maintained a momentum of China-Myanmar good-neighborly friendship and cooperation increasingly strengthened, comprehensive and cooperative partnership between China and Cambodia have developed smoothly. During the visit, I will work with the four countries the Government, ruling and opposition parties, as well as extensive contacts with all sectors of society, on bilateral relations and issues of common concern, exchange of views. I hope that through this visit would enhance the Chinese people and the people's friendly feelings toward the four countries, China and the four countries to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote good-neighborliness between China and the four countries to achieve greater development of friendly relations and cooperation.

On the right impression of Japan, the Xi Jinping said that, I have worked in Fujian, Zhejiang and Shanghai. This is in several places with Japan's long history of friendly exchanges, economic cooperation and cultural exchanges are very close. On the establishment of an East Asian Community issues, Xi Jinping said that the Prime Minister Hatoyama proposed the establishment of an East Asian community, showing the Japanese Government attaches importance to East Asian regional cooperation, positive attitude. This concept in line with the major trend of the integration process in Asia, but also including countries in the region, including China and Japan to pursue a common goal. Building an East Asian Community is a systems project, which should be based on reality, but also long-term perspective. The most important is that countries should strengthen dialogue and communication and consensus.

On the impression of Korea, the Xi Jinping said that four years ago, I visited South Korea. South Korean people are industrious and wise, warm and friendly and left me a deep impression. China and South Korea geographical proximity and cultural similarity, the two peoples have a long history of friendly exchanges, cultural exchanges since the two countries established diplomatic ties more active, showing a flourishing of a good trend. These friendly exchanges have enhanced mutual understanding between the two peoples and friendship, so that the social basis of bilateral relations more solid.

With regard to China-South Korea relations, Xi Jinping said that China-South Korea relations have maintained a good momentum of development. Leaders of the two close contacts, deepening economic and trade cooperation. President Hu Jintao and President Lee Myung-bak agreed to the Shanghai World Expo and the Yeosu World Expo as an opportunity to be in 2010 and 2012 years respectively, as a visit to China and South Korea Visit. I hope that joint efforts will be in Shanghai and Yeosu World Expo will result in promoting bilateral cultural exchanges play an important platform for cultural exchanges between the two countries to a new stage of development.

Turning to the issue of China-South Korea free trade zone, Xi Jinping said that the deepening economic and trade cooperation is an important content of China-South Korea relations, but also an important driving force for development of bilateral relations. The establishment of China-South Korea Free Trade Area of the sustainable development of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries of great significance. We should seize this historical opportunity to continuously expand cooperation areas and innovate modes of cooperation, enrich the connotation partnership between the three countries, Japan and South Korea cooperation to play a role in promoting East Asian cooperation, for the construction of an East Asian community to make their due contributions.

With regard to the six-party talks on Korean nuclear issue, Xi Jinping stressed that adhering to denuclearization of the peninsula through dialogue and peaceful means to solve the problem, and insist on preserving the peninsula and in Northeast Asia peace and stability is China's consistent position. The Chinese side will continue to promote the six-party talks to play a constructive role. We hope relevant parties make joint efforts to strive for an early resumption of six-party talks. Continue to promote the Six-Party Talks process and the full realization of the 9.19 joint statement issued by the three major objectives, in line with the common interests of all parties.

With regard to China's macroeconomic situation and deal with the financial crisis measures, Xi Jinping pointed out that we have just opened a central economic work conference. The challenge is global, no country can cope alone, need for countries to work together. China is a developing country. Nevertheless, China's energy-saving and emission reduction in recent years adopted a series of positive steps have also made remarkable achievements.
